NG Space Systems is looking for a System Engineer – Maritime Targeting Cell (MTC) Instructor who can provide key training developmental knowledge to Northrop Grumman’s National Security Space programs. As an instructor, the selected candidate will be required to design and develop training material to support automated scenarios, mission exercises and certification check rides for the customer operations personnel.

Other responsibilities include working with the IPT Lead to identify training needs and develop training plans and curriculum such as reference guides, operational guides and evaluation tools. The MTC Instructor will also work with systems engineers to ensure training curriculum and scenarios accurately represent current operational documentation used during on-orbit checkout and commissioning of satellites as well as during execution of primary mission(s).

The MTC Instructor will also support system development activities such as requirements management, architecture development, integration and test and formal program milestones. The selected candidate will also be required to interface with program and customer personnel regularly.

Occasional shift work may also be required for the position.

Required to travel to domestic and foreign locations up to 25% based upon need.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's + 9 years of exp; Master's + 7 years of exp; PhD + 4 years of exp.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • Experience as a Naval Cryptologic Collections or Electronic Warfare (CTT/EW) or other Service Equivalent.
  • Experience performing SIGINT/ELINT intelligence analysis.
  • Classroom instruction experience.
  • Basic understanding of space/ground system components and spacecraft subsystems.
  • Experience with digital signal analysis tools.
  • Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions.      
  • Knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Designing and implementing training scenarios and requirements for training simulations; developing training requirements and operator certification requirements.
  • Activities such as requirements management, I&T of consolidated baselines, Tier 1 support.
  • Experience teaching technical end users on prime mission equipment operation.
  • Developing and delivering training plans, classroom training curriculum, classroom material and training aids for technical subjects.
  • Instructional System Design (ISD) development experience.
  • CONOPS/CONEMP understanding and familiarization.
  • Scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.) and/or Matlab; Agile development concepts.
  • Expertise using various types of RF test equipment, (e.g. spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, time-domain analyzers, … ) to measure and verify real world RF signals (e.g. interpulse & intrapulse modulations, PRI. PW, frequency, Amplitude AOA, Phase AOA, radar scan patterns, …)
  • Detailed knowledge of radar signal characteristics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical audiences.

Salary Range: $115,400.00 - $173,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
