What You’ll Do:
As the Chief Data and Information Officer (CDIO), you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of our information and data management systems. You will play a crucial role in understanding and implementing data-driven strategies that align with our business objectives. Guiding all aspects of data management, strategy, and governance within Slingshot Aerospace. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven initiatives and leveraging data and digital infrastructure.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for leveraging data-driven insights to drive business improvement and optimize overall business processes. This is an executive role reporting directly to the CEO. The CDIO will need to balance the 'big picture' strategic thinking with day-to-day operational realities and drive change in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:
- Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data. Ensuring reliable and efficient delivery of data, security, digital infrastructure, and user experience for internal and external clients.
- Business of Data: Leverage your background in data business to drive revenue and growth. You will identify new opportunities where data can be utilized to support business strategies. You will also focus on data augmentation to contextualize our current data assets, thereby expanding our markets.
- Product Development: Collaborate with the product team to integrate data strategies into product development. You will ensure that data is accessible and useful for product innovation. You will also be responsible for incorporating AI into the product and user experience where appropriate.
- Technology Strategy: Develop and implement a technology strategy that aligns with our business goals. You will oversee the management of our technological resources and lead the planning and execution of technology projects. You will also work closely with the technology team to ensure the security of our intellectual property.
- Leadership: Strategic leader focused on enabling company growth and operations through high fidelity data, technology enablement, and implementation of digital solutions. You will lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and other technical professionals. You will foster a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Corporate Culture: Facilitate and lead a culture of innovation, collaboration, and transparency.
- Stewardship: Asset management and stewardship of data, digital infrastructure, related technologies, and the related budget.
Pre-Requisites
- Must be eligible to obtain or maintain US Government Security Clearance
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- 10+ years proven experience as a CDO, CIO, CTO leading data and/or information technology functions at the executive level, preferably in the aerospace or space systems industry
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing, leading, and managing digital governance, compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management
- Proven leader with artful communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic thinker with a track record delivering product development, driving innovation, and delivering measurable business results through data-driven initiatives
- Astute in data administration and management functions with strong understanding of data pipeline curation and best practices for data analysis
- Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
- Thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Proficiency with modern business enablement tools like MS Office Suite, modern data management platforms, and various project management tools
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as required
Preferred Skills
- Professional experience in space or aerospace sectors
- Previous technology start-up experience
- Active Secret or higher Security Clearance preferred
