Description

At Northrop Grumman Australia, we’re committed to safeguarding Australia’s future by solving our customers most challenging problems across Space, Aeronautics and Mission Systems. Part of an industry leading business with over 85,000 employees around the world, we’re utilising that depth and expertise to define what is possible – delivering world-class defence capabilities for Australia. And world-class careers for our people.

Your Role

As the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA), you will undertake a pivotal role in supervising and enhancing our financial reporting, planning, and analysis frameworks. Your responsibilities include ensuring that financial information is timely, accurate, and compliant with both U.S. and Australian accounting standards. This role calls for strategic leadership and expert guidance across all facets of financial management within NGA. You will also play a crucial role in pricing future business initiatives, collaborating closely with the Division Financial Controller and business stakeholders to secure optimal outcomes for NGA and its programmes.

In your capacity, you will be a vital member of the Business Management leadership team, focusing on delivering accurate and predictable reporting both internally and externally. Your tasks will include overseeing the consolidation of financial planning and strategic pricing, liaising with the Corporate Controller’s office, and interfacing with key U.S. finance stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage the financial planning and analysis team, supporting corporate pricing strategies and continuous process improvements, ultimately enhancing consolidated corporate reporting and stakeholder transparency.

About You

We are seeking a finance professional who is degree-qualified in accounting, holding CPA or CA credentials, and brings a blend of independence, motivation, and dynamism to our team.

Your proven ability to demonstrate leadership, coupled with a commitment to continuous improvement and change management, positions you as a formidable candidate. Experience in multinational U.S. corporations, particularly within audit roles, and familiarity with government and defence contracts will be highly regarded. Your role will involve effective communication and negotiation with senior executives and subject matter experts across both Australian and U.S. operations.

Your background will also include experience with aviation maintenance service operations and an understanding of key accounting standard changes such as AASB15 (Revenue), AASB9 (Financial Instruments), and AASB16 (Leases). The capacity to manage and navigate complex issues, analyse opportunities, and lead diverse stakeholder groups through critical reporting deadlines is essential.

If you are a self-starter with a dynamic approach and a knack for influencing complex stakeholder groups, you are likely to thrive in this challenging and rewarding position within NGA.

Applications for this exciting opportunity will close Friday 24 May 2024.
