AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.

Summary:

The Industrial Engineering position will be responsible for efficiency improvements, WASTE reduction, and increased productivity. They will devise systems to use resources to ensure that the delivery of all products and services is efficient and effective. They will be responsible for the proper conveyance of data, analysis, and have the engineering skills to convey the planned improvements to site leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Works closely with the Production Leadership team to:
- Monitor labor performance and develop plans for improvement.
- Monitor capital resource loading and develop plans for capacity management.
- Develop automation plans.
- Work with Production Control on work order variance and inventory control.
Coordinate facility capital plan execution under the guidance of the VP of Production
Define and document process designs (product routings)
Use and maintain models for standard work assignment
Lead Continuous Improvement activities:
- 5S
- Lead 3P Events.
- Wasted reduction activities (utilizing 6 Sigma, Red X, and other problem-solving tools)
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures.
Will manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations in conjunction with the Production Manager and Site Supervision Teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in an engineering field or in lieu of education 10+ year of related experience.
5 years of work-related experience in Automation, Automotive, Aerospace, or Defense
2 years of Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing experience
- Candidates with a master’s degree and 0 years of experience will be considered.
US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering
An advanced degree (MS) in Engineering
Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Experience in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries
Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
