Senior Materials Controller

Purpose of the role:

Maintain and manage the incoming flow of material to ensure production of the terminals. This role will also report on the status of inventory and ensure the correct inventory is reflected in the system.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Senior Material Controller will control the flow of material both internally and to Subcontract Manufacturers. They will assist in the shipping of completed terminals as well as testing requirements.

·         Leading and managing processes and procedures for the receipt of material.

·         Assisting with the management of non-conforming materials.

·         Driving and improving processes for inventory management that align with R & D, Supply Chain and Manufacturing requirements.

·         Adherence to processes/procedures for inspection of incoming goods, materials, electrical components, and subassemblies.

·         Managing the daily receipt of incoming materials both on site and at Third Party Logistics Provider

·         Maintain accurate stock listings both onsite and with suppliers.

·         Conducting regular spot checks for inventory

·         Communicating inventory status

·         Kitting of works orders to production both onsite and at Third Party Logistics Provider.

·         Shipping of material and finished goods

·         Ad hoc maintenance of the MRP system to ensure accuracy of data and inputs.

·         Reporting of the material using BI and excel.

·         Understanding of export controls and international shipping including (but not limited to) incoterms, commodity codes, export laws, SIEL, OGEL etc.

·         Record keeping of regulatory documents associated with exports/imports.

Forklift.

Customs Knowledge

Computer literacy

MRP knowledge

Additional Notes

This role requires flexibility of working location and will occasionally need to be based at the Third-Party Logistics Provider at Thatcham.
