Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Sr. Principal Engineer Software – 3194-3. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel program.

The successful candidate will be a motivated software developer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming. Full Stack Developers are responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications, and working alongside graphic designers for web design features, among other duties. Full Stack Developers will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

• Developing front end website architecture.

• Designing user interactions on web pages.

• Developing back-end website applications.

• Creating servers and databases for functionality.

• Ensuring responsiveness of applications.

• Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.

• Designing and developing APIs.

• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.

The successful candidate will:

• Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

•  Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Perform work without appreciable direction.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Sr. Principal Engineer Software: 09 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 07 Years with Masters, 04 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Experience with Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) (e.g., SAFE or AGILE)
• Experience developing front end web architectures.
• Familiar with the Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration Tools.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and NodeJS.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Experience with MERN stack development.
• Experience with Agile development methodology.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Express, Python, Ruby, Java, PHP and Net.
• Experience in leadership and project ownership (e.g., owning a CSCI or software capability).
• Experience working in a data science projects (e.g., Diagnostic Analytics, Fault Detection/Fault Isolation, Machine Learning Development, or data visualization)

Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
