SUMMARY

As Firefly’s Materials Manager- Production Planning & Execution, you will lead the overall material planning and execution of our manufacturing. This includes driving strategy for the Production Planning and Execution team to successfully meet our company’s short and long-term delivery goals. You will set expectations for the development and execution of the daily/weekly/monthly goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will work with the manufacturing leaders as well as the support team on harnessing data to visualize critical information needed to facilitate delivery execution, e.g. program schedule requirements, drawing release dates, tooling and material procurement, etc.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an individual with a high degree of passion for Production Planning & Execution with high energy and the ability to energize others coupled with a strong Operations leadership background fostering a collaborative, learning, and success-oriented team thriving in an innovative and fast-paced Aerospace production environment. This position is located at our manufacturing and rocket test site in Briggs, TX, just north of Cedar Park and Austin.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define executable strategy for Production Planning & Materials Management Execution
  • Refine operating system that ensures optimal alignment to Master Planned Schedule (MPS), internal factory capacity and the external supply chain plan
  • Coordinate with Production Planners and daily interface with Programs team on delivery commitments
  • Set clear measurable and actionable goals and objectives for successful materials planning, production control, inventory control and MPS
  • Implement MPS in our ERP system
  • Drive the production plan that aligns to SIOP and inventory commitments
  • Proactively build systems to overcome constraints in the factory, supply chain, labor, etc.
  • Analyzes production requirements based on immediate sales orders and short/medium term forecasting while considering production resources (people, material, machines)
  • Works closely with procurement to ensure replenishment processes and timely delivery of materials are in place and monitored
  • Works in close coordination with the manufacturing leaders and their team on the production execution
  • Launches inventory management program that adjusts to ongoing changes in supply chain and internal performance targets

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, Production Control, Logistics, SIOP or related.
  • Direct people management experience
  • Strong experience with MRP and MES business systems and processes
  • Strong bias for action, demonstrated track record as a change agent driving process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal & written communication
  • Ability to work in fast-paced/cross-functional environment

DESIRED

  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, Production Control, Logistics or SIOP related.
  • APICS, CPIM, CPSM or CPF certifications
  • Background in Space or Aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Experience with advanced planning systems
  • Six sigma certifications
  • Experience in a startup environment
