The Aerospace Space Domain Superiority Directorate, in the Special Programs Division, supports a broad array of Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power missions covering the entire threat response chain from the Space Domain Awareness function through the multidomain effects needed for space superiority. These programs include major system acquisitions for multiple ground and space segments, future architecture definition at the data/software/hardware levels, and research and technology for continuous evolution of space warfighting capabilities.
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to contribute to a team that is developing and delivering a critical space control capability to guarantee space superiority for our nation. This work is focused on supporting all aspects of implementing programs within the tightly integrated program office consisting of military, Aerospace, and SETA personnel. You will work on site in the government program office, where you will have frequent interaction with the government and support contractors. This opportunity will also collaborate with National Security Space mission partners that are building and integrating capabilities. This position allows for the opportunity to see your contributions to a critical mission become realized in the near future.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide technical expertise to ground system operations for missions with rapid acquisition timelines
- Support users in executing their missions by documenting new requirements, providing analysis to validate user configurations, developing new TTPs.
- Develop Courses of Action recommendations to inform decisions related to executability and inform customers and management of activities
- Provide ground and space system engineering support. This includes technical oversight and insight of multiple prime contractors, working with the Enterprise community
- Collaborate and help lead technical teams that work closely with our integrated customer team.
- Deliver high quality technical products in a timely manner.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements: Project Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or related technical discipline
- This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and additional special accesses, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- 8 or more years of space acquisition experience and/or ground systems development
- Experience building and leading effective teams and develop good working interpersonal relations with internal and external organizations
- Familiarity with Space Operations and tactical-and operational-level command and control
- Experience in systems engineering and space systems development
- Ability to support a moderate amount of travel
In addition to the above, the Sr. Project Engineer position requires:
- 12 or more years of relevant technical experience that includes systems engineering and space systems development
- Experience in a rapid development cycle environment supporting multiple efforts simultaneously.
- Lead technical SMEs to conduct analyses to support Mission Assurance activities.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- An advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or science or related technical field
- Satellite operations experience
- Experience of space systems cradle to grave (development through end of life)
- Experience in regulatory and policy standards (e.g. spectrum, launch safety)
- Experience with agile acquisitions of ground systems
- Experience working closely with matrixed technical organizations, program office peers, customers, and contractor personnel to quickly resolve issues

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
