Job Overview & Responsibilities

  • Launch Site integration of design manufacturing processes, procedures, production layouts, configuration management and material handling.
  • Establish and maintain all Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (SAP/ORBITS) of launch site configuration requirements of airborne, ground support, facility and nonflight consumable materials.
  • Apply latest technology concepts to resolve productivity, interchangeability, and product flow issues.
  • Technical Interface between Design engineering and Operational Systems Engineers (OSE), including review and approve drawing change requests and drawing changes in Teamcenter.
  • Develop/maintain the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) in ORBITS/Teamcenter databases and written work instructions in ORBITS work orders based on drawing and process requirements.
  • Serve as the launch site representative at Change Management Review Board (CMRB) and review all launch site flight and GSE engineering changes that might impact the launch site via the applicable computer database approval cycle (Teamcenter).
  • Coordinate changes with OSE, Material Resource Planner Controllers (MRP-C), Master Production Scheduler (MPS) and planning, establish an implementation plan and verify engineering supports the required need.
  • Compiles and provides management status reports for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates with design engineering and manufacturing on issues of production, quality, and manufacturability; supports hardware reviews.
  • Supports material review boards, corrective action boards and cost of quality as required.
  • Reviews and approves technical documents including plans, procedures, and process specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Basic understanding of design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Basic understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and SAP enterprise resource planning software.
  • Ability to identify problems and work resolutions.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written; including presentations).
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and defense industry.
  • Siemens Teamcenter or other engineering PLM tool.
  • Electronic Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Viewing CAD models.
  • Manufacturing/production/operations environment.
  • Technical writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to priority changes.
