Job description
Duties
- Prepares Agency staff for congressional hearings, briefings, meetings, and testimony; drafts Congressional testimony and policy statements.
- Prepares correspondence/position papers to Congressional leaders on legislative issues and make recommendations on changes/modifications.
- Coordinates inquiries and tracks requests from Congressional committees, external stakeholders, Agency staff, on legislation and on NASA programs. Coordinates timely responses.
- Evaluates the content of new or modified legislation and regulations for projected impact on current and future agency programs and resources.
- Informs members and Agency staff of upcoming NASA solicitations and competitions.
- Serves as a liaison for a variety of OLIA Congressional events.
- Fosters a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champions NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity and teamwork.

- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications
- Advising multiple levels of management, state government representatives, and other outside party officials on agency-wide administrative regulations, Federal policies, and the legislative process;
- Evaluating new or modified legislation and regulations for impact on current and future agency-wide programs; and
- Drafting and tracking correspondence, position papers, and other documents in response to Congressional inquiries.
