What We Need 
 
The Senior Automation Test Engineer will use their expertise to create and improve production test stations and software used to evaluate satellite antenna and terminal assemblies for low and medium volume production in Kymeta’s manufacturing facilityThey will evaluate antenna and terminal test data, providing critical feedback to sustaining and product development engineersTransitioning to mass production, the automation test engineer will work with Kymeta’s manufacturing partners to transfer the test station technology, ensuring that both remote and local test station output is available to Kymeta’s engineering team.   
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Write detailed visual aids and train production test technicians in the operation, output and maintenance of production test stations
  • Monitors and maintain production test stations, creating weekly reports of station output
  • Duplicate production test stations for expanded factory capacity and coordinate technology transfer of test stations to outside entities during scale-up activities
  • Assist in managing Kymeta’s production test database architecture 
  • Create and maintain productivity, factory management and quality management system data entry software as required by continuous improvement activities
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and manages DFx feedback  
  • Assist production personnel, champion continuous improvements and implement required engineering changes in assigned assembly areas/product lines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience writing visual aids, training and working with assembly personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Well versed in scoping, writing requirements, designing and implementing test equipment (software and hardware) using off the shelf components and networked devices
  • Experienced in writing and maintaining test software applications in C#; MySQL programming a plus 
  • Ability to quickly come-up-to speed on new technologies and engineering challenges 
  • Provides a strong sense of ownership to all assigned areas of responsibility and proven track record in driving continuous improvement in those areas 
  • Satellite communication equipment (BUC/LNB/Satellite modems) test and debug experience highly desired  
  • Ability to communicate information using standard Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Office, Power Point, Project and Visio
 
EDUCATION
  • B.S. from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Physical Electronics or related fields  

COMPENSATION 
 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $100,000 - $160,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
