What do you think we should do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

The company has received over $313 million in funding so far from investors such as Lifeline Ventures, True Ventures, Draper Associates, Space Capital, Molten Ventures, OTB Ventures, Tesi, EIF, Promus Ventures, New Space Capital, Seraphim Space, BAE Systems and DNX Ventures. ICEYE had revenues of approx. €50 million in 2022 and employs 500+ FTE in Finland, Poland, USA, UK, and Spain (50% of the colleagues are in Finland).

About the role

As ICEYE is continuing on its scaling journey, the finance organization is expanding and growing - we are building out the accounting team, and moving it in-house! Therefore, the company is looking for two (2) new accountants, responsible for analyzing ICEYE´s past transactions and presenting valuable information about the company's performance.  The day-to-day tasks will include book-keeping and reconciliation.

Description of Duties

  • Manage accounting tasks such book-keeping and reconciliation
  • Preparation of technical accounting memorandums on an ad hoc basis
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Provide input into the department's goal-setting process
  • Prepare financial statement footnotes
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Keep abreast with financial laws, rules and regulations and internal policies

Requirements

Required

  • Min. 2-years of experience working as an accountant
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large amounts of financial and accounting data accurately
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Accustomed to working in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with accounting and financial software, with preferred experience in NetSuite
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a relevant field (accounting, finance, economics, business administration etc.)
  • Excellent English language skills

Preferred

  • Master’s  degree from a relevant field (accounting, finance, economics, business administration etc.)
  • Some knowledge of, or exposure to, IFRS, specifically IFRS 16 or IFRS 2
  • Exposure to working with financial instruments
  • Experience working in international settings
  • Experience with: any of the following: OPEX, Right-of-use assets & liabilities, Finance income & expenses, Borrowings, Cash & Cash equivalents, or Intercompany transactions
  • Experience with supporting in the expansion of operations on ad-hoc basis, and assisting in consolidation and preparation of quarterly financial statements
