Space Data Science Intern

At NorthStar, we specialize in space data analytics and conjunction risk analysis, aiming to provide space traffic management support to all space actors. With support from esteemed partners like the Luxembourg Space Agency and the European Space Agency, along with substantial investments from programs like LuxImpulse, we are poised for significant growth. Our recent satellite launch in January promises to generate extensive satellite observations and crucial downstream products, consolidating our position as industry pioneers. 

 

Who you'll work with 

 

Our diverse team comprises astrodynamicists, software developers, aerospace engineers, and business developers, all dedicated to our mission of fostering space sustainability. 

 

What you will do 

 

As a Space Data Science Intern, you'll be integral to our technical team, contributing to various data science tasks including analysis, visualization, and data pipeline development. You will collaborate closely with colleagues on collision risk assessments, orbital data enhancement, and data analysis requests from diverse business units. 

 

What you bring to the table 

 

• A recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields, eager to embark on a career in space data analytics. 
• Proficient in Python with exposure to SQL (a bonus), keen on expanding your skill set. 

• Owner of strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, thriving in international team environments. 
• A creative scientist eager to apply best practices, develop new methods, and visualize insights 
• Interested in gaining proficiency in our tech stack with Python with Jupyter, PostgreSQL, including Gherkin, etc.
