Maxar is seeking a Geospatial Production People Manager to become a member of our Geospatial Production team. As a valued team member, you will assist our customers in executing their global mission with expert understanding and applicability of their geospatial data.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues): 

  • Support and execute land and ground cover projects as a geospatial professional within the Geospatial Production group
  • Expectation of approximately 5-10 hours per pay period dedicated to people management duties and the remaining time spent working on production tasks
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and people management skills, including performance assessment, training, career development, and recognition/disciplinary actions for a group of geospatial analysts supporting land and ground cover projects
  • Collaborate with Production Managers to provide growth opportunities and feedback to team members
  • Maintain a culture of trust and help build high-performing teams to ensure overall organizational effectiveness while fostering an inclusive and diverse environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements for this position: 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), or related discipline (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Experience using ArcGIS 10 and extensions and ERDAS Imagine 2018+
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience producing NGA standard and non-standard products and datasets
  • Desire to manage team members while continuing to actively work on land and ground cover production
  • Handle complexity, ambiguity, and shifting priorities with ease. Display a willingness to play the role needed for project success
  • Prior experience providing positive and constructive written and verbal feedback to employees
  • Prior management or leadership experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members in an online setting.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional people management experience
  • Master's degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), or related discipline (6 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Prior experience working on Maxar land and ground cover projects  
  • Proven track record of building and managing strong collaborative relationships
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistent track record of delivering key metrics, high level of energy, commitment, optimism, and passion for the business

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$81,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually.
