Honeybee Robotics is seeking a Thermal Analyst to perform thermal analyses for space electro-mechanical systems. You'll use your experience and skills to support design teams from concept development through product implementation. You'll be responsible for performing thermal analysis on a wide variety of designs and materials, interpreting analytical results to support testing and design optimization, and producing engineering documentation, reports, and technical data.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage external consultants
  • Perform thermal analysis on a wide variety of designs and materials - including composites and metals
  • Manipulate large-scale thermal models to support internal thermal solution development
  • Interpret analytical results to support electro-mechanical system testing and design optimization
  • Produce engineering documentation and reports, manipulating technical data from hardware testing
  • Work closely with engineers, manufacturing, and technical management to communicate design issues and develop solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with 6+ years of experience performing thermal analysis or A Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Demonstrate proven experience performing thermal analysis within the space industry, including familiarity with environmental acceptance/qualification testing criteria
  • Possess proficiency with tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA FLUINT, and ANSYS Workbenches
  • Exhibit expert understanding of heat transfer, flow, and thermodynamic principles
  • Demonstrate proficiency with spacecraft thermal control
  • Ability to write and present technical reports to multi-disciplined teams
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with composite materials
  • Experience with cryogenic environment
  • Capability to work effectively as a team player or independently

We offer a flexible salary range for this job posting that will be customized based on the qualifications of the chosen candidate. Our compensation strategy takes into account various factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment. The position is available at multiple levels, and the corresponding salary ranges are as follows:

Thermal Analyst III: $118,000-146,000
Thermal Analyst IV: $136,000-169,000
