We’re on the hunt for a Junior Structural Analyst, Electronic Packaging on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role: 

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, the Junior Structural Analyst, Electronic Packaging will contribute to the development of cutting-edge space electronic units and subsystems by performing their structural analyses.

 

Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate numerically, analytically and/or experimentally the stiffness, strength and durability of space electronic equipment and subsystems.
• Identify problems, propose changes or improvements to the design and then approve the mechanical design.
• Generate analysis reports as well as mechanical test plans and reports.
• Support manufacturing.
• Validate and prove the mechanical design by performing mechanical environment tests.

 

Qualifications required: 

• Knowledge of electronic components and packaging techniques (PCB, solders, vias, CCGA, BGA, thermal management, etc.).
• 0 to 2 years experience 
• Experience in finite element analysis.
• Experience in structural dynamics (modal, sinusoidal, random analyses) as well as thermos-elastic analysis for electronic units and subsystems.
• Familiar with fatigue and life evaluation of electronic equipments.

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or physics or materials science or an equivalent.

 

Desirable skills: 

• Ability to solve electronic equipment manufacturing problems.
• Ability to perform vibration, shock and life testing.
• Industrial experience.
• Experience with NASTRAN.
• Experience with Nx CAE & TeamCenter softwares.
