Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff level Advanced Payloads Lead Engineer. This position is primarily located in Roy, UT with the secondary location being Huntsville, AL. This position directly supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do
You will work across our Sentinel and Advanced Programs Business Units for the analysis and design of countermeasures for ballistic and hypersonic missiles. This requires a strong understanding of Radars and EO/IR systems, RF and EO/IR Signature analysis, basic orbital mechanics, and missile defense battle management system design. You will get to analyze our current weapon systems to identify the need for new countermeasures based on the evolving threat. You will also get to design, prototype, and test the countermeasure designs. You will support the capture of new programs and technology insertion into existing programs.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM-related field of study from an accredited university and 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 12 Years with a Master’s, and 9 Years with a PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years and have the ability to get SCI cleared
- Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Experience developing RF signature models in XPatch, HFSS, etc.
- Experience in Radar Cross Section evaluation and modification
- Experience in EO/IR Modeling
- Experience in probability to penetrate analysis
- Experience with engagement modeling frameworks like AFSIM or THORN
- Experience in integrating multiple low-level models into higher level frameworks to accomplish mission, theater, and campaign level analysis
- Experience in a Research and Development Environment including market analysis, mission analysis, concept development, prototyping, and screening testing
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have
- Active TS/SCI clearance with current SAP access
- Knowledge of the ITASE model framework
- Active experience in ICBM or MDA work on countermeasures
- Radar Range Testing Experience
