Job description
Duties
- Leads the administrative EA Travel Office tasks and prioritizes day-to-day functions. Ensures proper routing, handling, accuracy, and communication of Travel Office per NASA/JSC standards.
- Provides travel expertise to contractor team and Engineering Civil Servant community while maintaining and developing good working relationships with various offices internal and external to Engineering (EA).
- Ensures Travel Authorization complies NASA regulations, identifying and correcting errors, suggesting best practices, and participates in supplying travel training to training preparers.
- Establishes or updates travel procedures and documents them, develops metrics and presents metrics regularly, and works to improve the travel website content.
- Communicates clearly: Provides open, honest, and courteous written and oral communication. Presents information accurately and effectively.
- Works closely with the Business and Strategic Assessments Group Lead to ensure smooth operations of the Engineering Travel Office.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-11, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level:
- Organizing and preparing travel authorizations for multiple travelers, according to Agency standards for both domestic and international trips;
- Preparing travel reimbursement vouchers and resolved travel issues for international and domestic travelers;
- Communicating with stakeholders to gather information and share expertise, and delivering clear, concise, and accurate written and oral communication.
b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field
OR
d) LL.M., if related
OR
e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above

If you are a current federal employee, you must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible for this position. To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in a position no more than 2 grades lower than the advertised position.
