Our development timelines are aggressive, and our ideal candidate must have a passion for this work and Maxar's mission.

Our missions and contracts require proactive schedule coordination of engineering, hardware, and software development projects, test activities, and ongoing mission operations.  As Master Scheduler, you will work to construct, maintain, communicate, and effect changes in program element schedules, key project milestones, and major deliverables within the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for programs with Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements.  You'll be empowered to identify gaps in our project, integration, and software development plans, implement scheduling process improvements, and drive consistency across our proposal and mission schedules.

The successful candidate must have experience working with subcontractors, ensuring alignment of subcontractor activities for overall project visibility, tracking and completion. The Master Scheduler will coordinate subcontractor information and ensure it is received on time and flows into Maxar’s EVM system as appropriate.

How the Master Scheduler will make an impact:

  • Maintain and status the program schedule.

  • Oversee multiple team and partner schedules for accuracy and best practices; incorporate multiple partner schedules.

  • Document, coordinate, validate, approve, report, and control schedule baselines and revisions to ensure all contractual requirements are satisfied.

  • Identify and analyze the program critical path and driving paths to schedule specific milestones and communicate critical path schedules and narratives to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work with Maxar program managers and technical leads to ensure that program schedules reflect reality and that key deliverables to our customer will be completed on time.

  • Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with Agile Engineers, DevOps, and Project Managers ensuring up-to-date and accurate plans.

  • Quickly understand existing and future projects, sequences, and constraints to actively de-conflict issues with several teams, including subcontractors, across multiple, geographically dispersed sites.

  • Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and present potential constraints on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.

  • Learn our Agile Software Engineering and customer operations with sufficient depth such that you can critically evaluate them and offer process improvements.

  • Maintain and perform schedule risk analysis to identify program criticality and uncertainty.

  • Provide assessment of impacts of proposed revisions to the Program Schedules and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, legal, or business discipline

  • Expertise working with MS Project Web Access (MS Project On-line), MS Project Server, or MS Project Professional

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, to include Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing

  • Experience integrating schedules from third-party contractors

  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment – this is a highly collaborative position that requires ability to work under pressure and under challenging deadlines of quick turnaround proposals

  • Ability to analyze, organize and summarize data to ensure accurate records and reporting are maintained throughout the project life cycle

  • Must be willing to travel on occasion to customer, subcontractor, and other Maxar locations, as necessary.

  • Preference will go to candidates with an active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, or other technical discipline

  • Experience working Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Authorization to Operate (ATO) capabilities

  • Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology
