Job description
Duties
- Oversee and coordinate the comprehensive web and social media portfolio of the Ames Science Directorate’s.
- Develop weekly science highlights and “nuggets” for headquarters Science Mission Directorate and external distribution. Work with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and coordinate review and approval from stakeholders.
- Provide scientific and technical writing, graphics, layouts and editing of science directorate reports, PowerPoint presentations and charts.
- Produce materials such as pop-up displays, posters, handouts. Develop video content to be used in various capacities. Develop cutting-edge science and technology-focused exhibit spaces for locations such as lobbies, science centers and museums.
- Coordinate activities, support exhibits and conference booths, and give presentations at conferences and events. Serve as lead coordinator for VIP visits.
- Develop written content and graphics at the directorate level and develop style guide/processes applicable to all divisions and branches. Lead editorial content and usability reviews.
- Establish and develop working relationships within Ames and outside organizations to leverage audiences and expand the science directorate’s education and outreach portfolio.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
- Performing scientific technical writing featuring high-impact research and technology development to promote organization's science objectives.
- Overseeing the design of a web interface and architecture using organziation content management system yielding findable content.
- Developing audio, video and multimedia products to be used in exhibits, display venues, conferences or tours.
