Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Systems Engineer Lead to join our dynamic team. As the prime contractor for the LTV project, Intuitive Machines is responsible for integrating various subsystems, including spacecraft design, energy management, avionics, autonomous navigation, sensors, controls, mission planning, operations, and training alongside our  Moon RACER global team of companies including AVL, Boeing, Michelin, & Northrop Grumman The Systems Engineer Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration and operation of these systems to achieve mission objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Systems Integration Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance in the integration of complex subsystems to meet project requirements, specifications, and objectives.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, software developers, and project managers, to coordinate system integration activities and resolve technical challenges.
  3. Requirements Analysis: Define and analyze system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals, customer needs, and regulatory standards.
  4. System Architecture Design: Develop system architecture designs, including interfaces, components, and interactions, to ensure the compatibility and interoperability of subsystems.
  5. Risk Management: Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues and ensure the reliability and safety of integrated systems.
  6. Verification and Validation: Develop and implement verification and validation plans to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of integrated systems.
  7. Technical Documentation: Generate technical documentation, including system specifications, interface control documents, and test procedures, to facilitate system integration and operation.
  8. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to project requirements, standards, and best practices throughout the system integration lifecycle.
  9. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers to provide updates on system integration progress, technical issues, and project milestones.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system integration processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, spacecraft design, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement in complex engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, system architecture design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with spacecraft subsystems, including energy management, avionics, autonomous navigation, sensors, controls, and communications.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as SysML, DOORS, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with NASA standards, regulations, and mission requirements is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required.
