Here at The Exploration Company we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit, and which carries cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented Quality Engineer to help us in our mission by ensuring that all hardware and deliverables are delivered on quality.

Key Responsibilities


As a Quality Engineer, you will hold a crucial position within both the Operations and Project organizations. You will serve as the quality focal point for space projects, with a primary focus on propulsion projects, while also contributing to the development of our Quality Management System. Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Supporting Project and Operations organizations in definition, implementation and maintenance of the processes for EN 9100 compliance and certification,
  • Acting as a Product Assurance Engineer on assigned projects, and managing them in accordance with requirements, quality plans and implemented processes,
  • Engaging in supporting the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing processes by ensuring, enhancing, and refining quality best practices, and implementing quality control activities to meet project requirements and industry standards,
  • Supporting the Procurement Team in supplier evaluation, inspection of incoming goods, and enforcing supplier and subcontractor adherence to quality requirements,
  • Contributing to Non-conformance management protocol conducting in-depth analysis of quality issues from suppliers, MAIT, or other areas within the company, and spearheading systematic corrective actions,
  • Leading key inspections points for the products throughout the assembly, integration and testing phases,
  • Supporting the test area for the integration of test benches and regular inspection points,
  • Preparing for and leading the commissioning processes of new test benches from the quality side, 
  • Creating comprehensive quality control plans for the projects, and representing the Quality department at the Verification Control Boards,
  • Working in collaboration with various teams and fostering the significance of quality and continuous improvement methodology across the organization,
  • Maintaining control over restricted and hazardous substances acc. to ROHS and REACH,
  • Enhancing safety-related aspects in the test and propellants areas.

What we would love to see from you


In the role of Quality Engineer ideally, you will have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field,
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality role,
  • Experience with quality management systems and related standards i.e.EN 9100, ISO 9001, ECSS,
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills,
  • Detail and solution-oriented mindset with a strong ability to work independently,
  • Relevant experience with inspection techniques and process control,
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment while exhibiting strong leadership skills,
  • Willingness to travel as needed,
  • Working fluency in English. 

Additional assets:
  • Experience with propulsion technologies,
  • Working fluency in French.
