Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a well-qualified Linux Computer Systems Administrator/Analyst to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program. This position can be filled in Morrisville, NC, Linthicum, MD, or Aurora, CO.
What you’ll get to do?
As a Computer Systems Administrator on this team you will support a large, classified government contract, maintain operations of the entire IT infrastructure within the cloud environment, ensure necessary IT projects are completed independently or assigned to others as necessary, obtain and analyze internal and external customer requirements and recommend cloud assets and software as needed. You’ll also implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability and security of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management, manage backup infrastructure, provide backup and recovery services, manage virus protection on a routine basis as directed by policy, maintain security audit and logging information as directed by the Cyber Security team, create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions as directed by policy, and develop and maintain technical processes and procedures as needed. Maintain system operational availability according to contractual requirements and perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
The successful candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and patching Red Hat Linux in a cloud environment and experience with infrastructure as code. They will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and experience analyzing requirements. The individual must be willing to support an “on call” rotation to respond to critical system notifications and events.
We have multiple positions on the Ground program, and we have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities.
Please note that due to the classified nature of this position, the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, and that this is not a remote work opportunity.
Qualifications
This position may be filled at a Principal or Senior Principal level, depending on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Computer Systems Administrator/Analyst: Associate’s degree with 7 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, 0 years with a PhD. 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Senior Principal Computer Systems Administrator/Analyst: Associate’s degree with 11 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 7 years of experience, or 4 years with a PhD. 13 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must be a US Citizen
Active TS/SCI and a CI polygraph
Experience installing, maintaining, and managing Red Hat Linux in engineering and cloud environments
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining resources in an AWS cloud environment.
Experience implementing STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) on Linux systems.
Linux troubleshooting experience
Experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible)
Must hold a current TIA Security+. Certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed, supporting rotation for “on-call support”
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python or C++
Full scope polygraph
Advanced Linux troubleshooting experience.
TIA Security+CE, CASP, CISSP.
