The Digital Systems Engineer will work on-site in Houston, Texas and will participate in all phases of the space systems development process including requirements definition, design, integration, test, and operations.  The Digital Systems Engineer will have an emphasis on application and exploitation of integrated digital engineering tools, to include requirements management, model based systems engineering tools, and scripts and integration environments for importing, exporting, and transferring data.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create/enable EVA systems model in MBSE environment including:
    • Concept of operations
    • Architecture definition
    • Interface definitions including external and internal
    • Functional analysis
    • Requirements allocation to conops elements
    • Requirements allocation to architecture elements
    • V&V Planning including allocation of verification events to verification requirements and linkage from verification products through digital thread ultimately to system level requirements
  • Optimize tool architectures for use, analysis, importing and reporting.
  • Integrate with Axiom digital transformation activities
  • Capture evidence from completed verification activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out.
  • Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)
  • A minimum of 6 years SE experience with a minimum of 1 year in MBSE and digital engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Effective in working in a start-up environment with the ability to lead, drive and implement tactical change.
  • Experience in the V&V strategy development, planning and execution activities
  • Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired
  • Related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles, and their related components and systems is desired.
  • Experience with the use of test and measurement equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with simulator/hardware test development and execution is desirable.
  • A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of the complex and ambitious projects that we take on.
  • Demonstrated leadership and extensive collaboration skills .
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in small team environment with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight.
  • Certification as INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional preferred.


Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
