We have an exciting opportunity for a Subcontracts Specialist to join our current team supporting our current and future customers. 

If selected, you will:


  1. Subcontract Management:

    • Oversee the end-to-end subcontracting process, including solicitation, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

    • Evaluate and select subcontractors based on performance, capabilities, and cost competitiveness.

    • Initiate and manage subcontracts documents primarily in a FFP (Firm Fixed Price), T&M (Time & Materials) environment, professional services agreements with compensation plans, and negotiating T’s & C’s (Terms & Conditions) including payment plans on high value procurements.

  2. Proposal Support:

    • Collaborate with the business development team to provide subcontracting support for new business proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.

    • Contribute to the development of proposal strategies and pricing models.

  3. Risk Mitigation:

    • Identify and assess potential risks associated with subcontracting activities and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to anticipate and address potential challenges.

  4. Contract Negotiation:

    • Conduct negotiations with subcontractors to establish favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.

    • Ensure that subcontract agreements align with the company's legal and financial standards.

  5. Relationship Management:

    • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

    • Resolve disputes and issues with subcontractors in a timely and professional manner.

  6. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Initiate and/or review/administer NDA’s, Teaming Agreements & Joint Ventures, while supporting the  Supply Chain and Contracts Teams in a Commercial, FAR and DFAR environment.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in subcontracting activities.

    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all subcontracting transactions.

  7. Performance Monitoring:

    • Monitor subcontractor performance against established metrics and take corrective actions as needed.

    • Provide regular status reports to leadership on subcontracting activities.

A candidate for this position will take on a major responsibility and will be expected to play a role in the entire cradle-to-grave subcontract process, including surge support to procurement and contracts as required to release a well-executed business plan supporting the entire headquarters organization

Qualifications

 

Requisition Qualifications:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised. 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline and a minimum of 6) years of Supply Chain/Business experience in subcontracts management, contract management, proposal price/cost analysis, procurement and strategic sourcing years.

  • Experience in subcontracting and supply chain management within the aerospace and defense industry strong plus

  • Experience with process and procedure related to delivery documentation, inspection and

acceptance documentation related to engineering specifications, statements of work, material.

requests, test plans, work orders, and assembly procedures.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense federal acquisition regulations (DFAR).

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with proposal development and pricing strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management and mitigation.
