Overview

Maxar has an urgent and immediate need for a Project Manager to join our team in Reston, Virginia.

To be qualified you must be a US Citizen and must have an active TS/SCI.  CI Poly highly desired.

Your Project: In this role as the full-time on-site Project Manager, you will manage a large Task Order in support of a hard target mission. This technically and contractually complex TO requires a PM with significant experience managing diverse teams of direct employees and subcontractors.  You will work on-site with your customer, so great interpersonal and communication skills are a must.  You will be responsible for the successful management of various projects; working with customers, subcontractors, vendors, academia, government personnel, and corporate support services. A successful candidate works well with a team and communicates professionally to customers, stakeholders, and teammates. A strong mission focus is essential, as our diverse set of customer stakeholders on this project have critical national security mission imperatives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage project operations to ensure production schedules are met, system resources are used effectively, and that proper relationships are established between customers.
  • Responsible for cost, schedule, performance and risk identification/mitigation, to include forecasts, invoices, EACs, and MSRs.
  • Supervise staff operations and perform personnel management of employees to facilitate their day-to-day duties, as well as support their professional development and career growth. 
  • Mentor and manage a group of technical leads and task managers.
  • Oversight and management of numerous subcontractor companies and their staff who support this task order.
  • Responsible for collection of new customer requirements for additional staff, vendor support, procurement, or travel.
  • Deliver strong project and financial performance by meeting customer expectations and corporate forecasts.
  • Develop and realize new business opportunities within and external to the task order through targeted and organic growth.

Qualifications

Required:

  • You must be a US Citizen and must have an active TS/SCI clearance. CI Poly highly desired. 
  • You must have 6 years relevant professional experience.
  • You must have 2 years of experience in project management in support of the DoD and preferably the IC.
  • You must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Reston, Va.

Highly desired:

  • Advanced degree in geography, engineering, science, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified as a PMP, at DAWIA Level III, or equivalent in the project management functional area.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with the customer and staff.
  • Experience leading teams of technical experts in support of the DoD and preferably the IC.
  • Experience leading large teams.
  • Experience working with subcontractors.
  • Experience working with operationally-oriented customers.
  • Experience managing financially complex government contracts.
  • Business development experience: capture experience, white papers, competitive technical proposals, business proposals, etc.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$151,000.00 - $251,000.00 annually.


 

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
