SUMMARY:  Our team is looking for an Accounts Payable clerk who will primarily be responsible for assisting Axiom’s Accounts Payable Supervisor with coding and recording vendor invoices and credit card transactions timely and accurately.  As part of accounting, we support the payment and financial reporting side of our private astronaut missions, the building of our International Space Station and the making of spacesuits for NASA’s Artemis III mission to the moon. We are looking for an individual who is excited to grow with us in this industry and to apply their knowledge to help us fulfill our main goals of timely and accurate financial reporting.  This position reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is onsite at our Clear Lake City, Texas headquarters.  


NOTE:  This is a temp-to-hire position.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scan, code, and route invoices for approval
  • Enter invoices for payment into accounting system
  • Code and enter travel and expense reports into accounting system once they are approved for payment, in alignment with our competency of organizational support
  • Code and enter credit card transactions into the accounting system
  • Respond in a timely manner to vendor questions, demonstrating our core value of integrity and in alignment with our competency of communications

Education & Experience

  • Experience in accounting/bookkeeping or some education in the accounting field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel
  • Prior experience with some type of accounting software

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

 

Physical Requirements (For Technicians or others, this may require edits)

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
