Duties
- Provides guidance and assistance to supervisors and staff on human resource activities, such as Requests for Eligible's (RFE), details, reassignments, and promotions.
- Advises supervisors in developing draft position descriptions and consults with SMA management on proposed reorganizations.
- Works with the Directorate Human Resources Business Partner to process a multitude of personnel actions, such as Request for Eligible's, promotions, and reassignments.
- Leads a group of administrative specialists engaged in the following administrative support duties: Awards, Training, Directorate Facilities Utilization, Badging, Area Permits, NEST, and GSA Cars.
- Oversees the management of the awards budget, training budget, and the Exchange funds.
- Confers with the Business Office and Human Resources on any workforce activities.
- Keeps SMA management informed of all Center policy concerning administrative management.
- Serves as the principal advisor to Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) management on proposed new positions based on analysis of the needs of the organization, as well as matters pertaining to position classification and recruitment.

- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- This is a bargaining unit position - American Federation of Government Employees - Local 513.
Qualifications
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
- Providing administrative support in one of the following areas: awards programs, badging, Directorate Facilities Utilization, employee training, or personnel management;
- Processing actions using NASA automated tools to include Enterprise Information Management Application (EIMA), ePDS (Electronic Position Description System), NASA Automated Awards System (NAAS), Standard Performance Appraisal Communication Environment (SPACE), Web-based Time and Attendance Distribution System (WebTADS) or other administrative systems;
- Evaluating administrative functions to identify/implement process improvements.
