Job description

a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Ground Support Engineer to support the NASA Launch Services Program located at the Kennedy Space Center. The individual will perform a wide range of engineering tasks including tracking the design, development, manufacturing, testing, processing, and troubleshooting of launch pad ground systems used by various launch vehicles. The position will ensure that NASA maintains insight into the launch vehicle and spacecraft capabilities and exercises approval authority on all applicable deliverables/analyses. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and present at engineering review boards that affect NASA missions
  • Perform hardware inspections and assessments of launch vehicle ground systems at various facilities as part of the mission integration team
  • Ability to comprehend engineering drawings, fluid analysis, and perform minor stress calculations as a sanity check of existing and proposed design changes
  • Provide independent assessment of critical technical issues
  • Background in some or all launch vehicle Mechanical/Fluids Ground Support Equipment functions to include HVAC, pneumatics, lifting and handling, propellant loading, hydraulics, and their interfaces to associated flight systems
  • Develop Graphical User Interface to display telemetry data represented in system schematics

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with 3D CAD software preferred
  • Obtain successful completion of a government background check
  • U.S. Citizenship
