The Role
We are seeking junior software engineers interns who are passionate about working closely with customers to solve difficult mission-critical challenges. In this important role, you will be working on SOFTLINK®—our foundational software architecture and the cornerstone of our dynamic solutions. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Core Responsibilities
- Work with a group designing software and hardware for testing communication systems
- Assist with designing, coding, integrating, and testing embedded software.
- Support prototype development and test in a laboratory environment; collaborate with other disciplines, including electrical engineering, firmware, and test
- Use your skills in object-oriented programming, message protocol interpretation, real time processing, test script development, and use of agile processes, working under minimal supervision
- Help conduct automated and manual testing of applications controlling integrated hardware and peripheral equipment while supporting/enhancing existing software products as necessary
Required Skills
- Current college students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
- 0-1+ years of experience Python development
- 0-1+ years of experience C++ development
- Experience with the Linux Operating System
- Experience with version control tools, such as SVN
- Experience with real-time embedded systems is important
- May need to obtain and maintain a security clearance for this position
Preferred Skills
- Experience with telemetry and satellite communications
- Experience with the use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and digital multi-meters is a plus
- Familiarity with PCM telemetry
What We Offer
- Colorado pay range from: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour

This position is based out of ARKA’s Colorado Springs, CO campus. If you like city life, but also enjoy the great outdoors, Colorado Springs is the place for you.
