Spire’s Maritime team is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Sales Director to lead its direct commercial sales team (i.e. non-government) in EMEA. Reporting to the Global Maritime Sales Director, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the global maritime ecosystem.
Critical to the success of Spire in the EMEA, the Sales Director is a player/coach who will lead a team of senior and junior sales staff by example while contributing to pipeline growth and quota attainment. The successful candidate will have proven experience scaling revenue by driving a predictable and repeatable sales process.
What You'll Do:

Responsible for managing Spire’s direct commercial sales team in EMEA

Plan, develop, organize and direct the Company’s EMEA’s sales activities to ensure new business and client retention targets are met

Establish Go To Market plans for EMEA in collaboration with the Global Maritime Sales Director and execute against those plans

Track and analyze metrics to understand and report progress of sales activities and revenue growth. Provide regular sales forecasts for the EMEA region.

Drive new business sales and renewals/account management, growing pipeline and closing strategic deals while coaching the team to identify, qualify and close new business opportunities

Act as a key influencer at the C+ level to support the sales team and help close and deliver sales quotas

Develop and maintain good relationships with existing and new customers

Work with Marketing, Lead Generation/SDRs and Product functions to increase awareness, grow the customer base and drive relevant product enhancements to meet market demand

Collaborate with the Sales Engineering team to identify and resolve client concerns;

Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete line of products/services and customers business issues and needs as well as Market and Competitive trends.

Approximately 20% travel may be required
Who You Are:
You are an experienced sales leader with a track record of managing teams to quota/revenue targets and goal attainment. You love helping sales and client professionals of all levels (early-career BDRs, experienced Enterprise Account Executives, post-sales Account Managers, etc.) develop their skill sets and can guide them to personal and professional success.

8+ years of quota-bearing sales experience in data services/SaaS products, with a minimum of 2 years of sales team management

Track-record of meeting and exceeding targets in predominantly transactional sales businesses

Possess a builder-doer mentality with strong analytical skills and impeccable business acumen

Excellent presence and written & oral communication skills

Growth mindset, hunger for learning, and a desire to play a key role in building the SPIRE story in EMEA.

Experience working cross-culturally/cross-functionally

Capacity and experience working independently and across time multiple time-zones
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in our Munich office.
Access to US export controlled software and/or technology may be required.
Final base salary for this role will be based on the location, skills, experience and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for commissions and annual equity awards.
