We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Early Career - MRO Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of liquid rocket engines at our West Texas facility. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the New Shepard Engines Flight Support Engineering team and contributing to the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pre- and post-flight engine maintenance, inspection, and repair
  • Work under the guidance of manufacturing specialist and engineers to understand and interpret design engineering requirements
  • Support daily requests for inspections and contribute to process development and reporting
  • Assist with the assembly, installation, and removal of liquid rocket engines
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to achieve outlined flight objectives
  • Contribute to maintaining hardware documentation pedigree for human capable flight
  • Participate in flight engine schedule estimations and execution Identify opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Relevant internships or educational coursework in aerospace
  • 1+ year of experience with CAD through relevant internships or educational coursework
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering standards and technical requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of tasks
  • Passion for hands-on work and a desire to learn and grow within the aerospace industry
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence in adhering to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations within the aerospace industry, ensuring a secure work environment for oneself and coworkers while carrying out tasks related to aerospace production
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior exposure to maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations
  • Hands-on work with cryogenic systems
  • Experience with high pressure gas flows, liquid rockets or jet engines
  • Interest in advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight
