Our mission-driven team is seeking a Contracts Specialist who will be responsible for a full range of U.S. Government and commercial contract and subcontract management actions in our three lines of business, Private Astronaut Missions (PAMs), Exploratory Extravehicular Activity Services (xEVAS), and the Commercial Development of the International Space Station (CDISS). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Apply attention to detail and systems management skills to Axiom’s Contract Management tools and systems.
  • Continuously improve Axiom’s Contract Management System
  • Develop detailed, polished and professional reports from Axiom’s system
  • Professionally represent Axiom Space, Inc. on contractual correspondence and transactions and work closely with customers – internal and external – to develop and maintain productive business relationships
  • Apply prudent contract management knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet prime U.S. Government and other customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies
  • Collaborate with program personnel to develop subcontracts in support of prime contract requirements to include appropriate prime contract flow downs
  • Effectively manage contractual scope and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contract scope
  • Collaborate very closely with Leadership, Legal and Procurement to mitigate contractual risks to Axiom
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to construct, submit, and negotiate terms and conditions and pricing proposals, examine, and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, engineering services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education

 

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, management of information systems, supply chain management or project management from an accredited institution is required


Experience


  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience contract data for accuracy and/or managing contract information systems (CLM, CRM, ERP, etc.), preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or professional services industries
  • Database management and demonstrated continuous improvements
  • General knowledge of contract administration with an understanding of the contract lifecycle and key phases therein
  • Experience and continued interest in improving contract management tools to include but not limited to: DocuSign, Box, Ironclad (repository, workflow designer, insight), Atlassian Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to identify risk in business transactions, communicate the risk and mitigate as appropriate
  • Some knowledge of FAR, NFS and related government policies and regulations
  • Professional presence complemented by superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize based on shifting business priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Focus on responsiveness with strong time management and organizational skills
  • MS Suite experience (Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, TEAMS)
  • Ability to travel to Axiom facilities and NASA customer sites (generally in the Houston 77058 area)

Requirements 

 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position


Physical Requirements

 

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (98% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (2% of the time)
  • Use of standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.)
