Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Vulcan Development Electrical Design Engineer, you will be developing avionics components and hardware for all ULA Vulcan upgrade programs. These exciting programs include avionics and engine reuse and Upper Stage Advancement, furthering the capabilities of our avionics suite and launch fleet. ULA is looking for someone excited to provide a direct impact to our customer's commercial capabilities and our national security.

  • Working alongside Certified Responsible Engineer (CRE) for avionics components that may include power generation, power switching, communication systems, RF systems, and/or flight computers.
  • Developing and managing requirements, design, and testing of new hardware designs.
  • Work with lead and leader to execute trade studies and component/vendor down-selection.
  • Create test plans and execute testing with ULA vendors and commercial test houses.
  • Develop and execute circuit design, printed wiring board layouts, and circuit card production.
  • Support and present at PDRs, CDRs, and other gate reviews.
  • Supporting integration of components onto the launch vehicle.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentation skills.
  • Exposure to Pspice or similar circuit analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in a team or as an individual contributor.
  • Self-motivated to manage and close on assignments, testing, and vendor execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working Avionics systems and components.
  • Experience working payload interfaces in the launch applications.
  • Experience presenting in front of customers and work with customers.
  • General data review skills.
