Job Overview & Responsibilities

This position will support ULA's Vulcan Development organization, working on upgrades to ULA's Vulcan Centaur rocket ground architecture as well as projects/programs that enhance and evolve ULA's offerings and provide more capabilities to our customers. This position will report to a Systems Engineering leader within the Vulcan Development organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support multidisciplinary project teams with a focus on vehicle ground systems (including but not limited to: transportation & handling of vehicle hardware, propulsion & mechanical ground support equipment, and launch site vehicle processing).
  • Support a team with cross-functional technical integration.
  • Support a team in evaluating internal and external customer/operational needs and developing and integrating vehicle ground system requirements.
  • Execute systems engineering activities for Vulcan Centaur vehicle processing, including (but not limited to) requirements development, integration, systems analyses, failure modes & effects analyses, test methods, operational process development, trade study development and management, risk, issue, and opportunity management, team and program execution planning, technical decision making, requirements verification activities, proposal support, and gate review preparation and execution.
  • Identify and apply appropriate scaling of systems engineering activities commensurate with the specific project needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in areas that drive design, such as structural analysis and design, propulsion analysis and design, electrical analysis and design, software development, or system analysis.
  • Experience with:
    • Generating, allocating, and verifying requirements.
    • Leading cross-functional teams in performing requirements analysis, development, integration, and verification: trade study and risk management.
    • System-level design reviews or major gate reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) and presenting to a diverse customer audience.
    • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the integration of charts for large presentations to the customer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams with an emphasis on launch vehicle ground systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to work within an Agile development process.
  • Experience with previous development programs to develop a new product from scratch or enhance an existing product.
  • A successful candidate will be a self-starter able to work autonomously, learn, tailor and execute processes, and perform in a collaborative Agile environment.

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $80,292.00 - $125,404.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
