The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager to support Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) programs located in Kent, WA; El Segundo, CA; Huntsville, AL; or Saint Charles, MO.
As the Digital Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and executing the SI&WS Digital Engineering strategy, establishing and maintaining the SI&WS Model-based Engineering (MBE) solutions, and partnering with SI&WS programs to define and execute their MBE Roadmaps. You and your team will also be responsible for coaching and training programs on Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools in support of program adoption. The SI&WS Digital Engineering team will support Space Mission Systems (Commercial Satellites, Government Satellites, ESG and Rapid Space Capabilities), Space Exploration Systems (Commercial Crew, International Space Station, Space Launch Systems), Weapon Systems (Integrated Air Missile Defense, Direct Attack, Cruise Missile Systems) and Maritime (Orca) programs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain SI&WS MBE solutions.
- Partner with SI&WS programs to identify opportunities to implement digital engineering as part of MBE Roadmap development.
- Partner with SI&WS programs to execute MBE Roadmaps.
- Facilitate recurring meetings, technical exchanges and reviews involving multiple internal and external organizations across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Utilize engineering experience to support programs in identification of MBE opportunities.
- Generate a consolidated summary of progress-to-plan of the program MBE Roadmaps for Executive Leadership, integrating technical inputs from multiples disciplines as well as weekly status summaries.
- Independently plan and meet goals requiring cooperation of organizations/ functions outside span of control.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
Work Authorization:
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- 5 or more years of experience in an engineering role.
- 3 or more years in Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- 2 or more years leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role.
- 2 or more years of experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years of technical experience.
- Experience in a role that required strong decision-making skills.
- Experience leading, planning, and executing technical reviews.
- Experience with tailoring and implementing Boeing engineering command media.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing and integrating strategic projects, plans, and initiatives to meet business goals.
- Leadership experience in engineering and/or organizational leadership/program management.
- Experience preparing and presenting technical briefings to senior executives in individual or group settings.
- Experience in Model Based Engineering Implementation.
- System modeling experience using CAMEO or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools.
