Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Protocol and International Space Policy Manager who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

 

Summary: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Protocol and International Space Policy Manager who will primarily be responsible for aiding the Vice President of Government and External Relations with developing, coordinating, and maintaining relationships with key international space policy stakeholders. The Protocol and International Policy Manager is a key position within the Government Relations organization, responsible for managing all aspects of protocol and international policy to ensure effective and diplomatic engagement with international partners and stakeholders by leveraging relationships with U.S. Government stakeholders. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of international space policy dynamics and engagement strategies. The Protocol and International Space Policy Manager will be responsible for fostering collaboration, managing outreach programs, and implementing initiatives that enhance the organization's reputation and impact with U.S. Government stakeholders in international space policy.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Protocol and International Space Policy Manager is a key position within the Government Relations organization responsible for managing all aspects of U.S. Government protocol and international policy to ensure effective and diplomatic engagement with international partners and stakeholders. Essential duties include:  

  • Develop and implement protocols and guidelines for international engagements, ensuring compliance with diplomatic norms, cultural sensitivities, and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as the organization's primary point of contact for the U.S State Department, U.S. Commercial Service, and U.S. Embassies around the world to maintain strong relationships and facilitating effective communication.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and implement policies and procedures related to international engagements, ensuring consistency and adherence to organizational goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis on international policies and regulations, providing recommendations on diplomatic strategies and approaches.
  • Organize and manage contacts with U.S. Government international stakeholders at international events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to protocols.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on international protocols, cultural sensitivities, and diplomatic etiquette to enhance their ability to engage effectively with international partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the organization's international policy initiatives as it relates to U.S. foreign policy, assessing their impact and effectiveness, and making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited university; political science, public or business administration, international relations, public policy or other closely related field. 
  • 4-6 years of progressively responsible professional-level experience with responsibility to analyze and make recommendations to resolve budgetary, legislative, governmental, or other similarly complex problems. 
  • Multilingual skills in any of the United Nations official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and/or Spanish) is desired but not required.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

 

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

 

 Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
