Job description

As the Head of Government Sales for Impulse Space, you will be tasked with overall responsibility for initiating and closing US Government space-transportation business, with a focus on defense.

You will have the industry’s best technical, marketing, and Board support to ensure your success in this role. However, you will need to be a highly motivated individual that can roll up your sleeves and get the job done. With a strong focus on program execution, Impulse believes in forming a lean non-bureaucratic team of smart hardworking people. This means your role is not to go build a team—it’s to execute a strategy and successfully bring Impulse’s in-space transportation offerings to government programs.

Responsibilities

  • Contracting TACFI/STRATFI, AFWERX, SPACEWERX, Defense SBIR/STTR, DIU, DARPA and NRO programs
  • Impulse’s primary customer representative to the US Government and DoD stakeholders
  • Identify and prioritize target government programs and key decisionmakers
  • Prepare proposal and acquisition documentation
  • Negotiate and close deals
  • Strategic planning for future NSSL architectures, coordinating closely with relevant stakeholders
  • Be a trusted and respected ambassador for the company in forums ranging from trade conferences to meetings with high-ranking government officials
  • Travel as needed (20-40%).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in contracting with TACFI/STRATFI, AFWERX, SPACEWERX, Defense SBIR/STTR, DIU, and NRO programs
  • Strong understanding of US Tactically Responsive Space programs, requirements, and stakeholder motivations
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and closing sales relevant to this role
  • 5+ years' of demonstrated sales experience within the aerospace field or related industries

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Held positions within the United States Space Force, United States Air Force, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with government satellite applications in geosynchronous and cis-lunar orbits, NRO or other government earth observation programs, or MEO/GEO/beyond space situational awareness programs
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Advanced degree in a field relevant to this role
