Location: Houston, TX

As a Production & Manufacturing Intern, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with state-of-the-art machinery, including mills and lathes, contributing to the development of groundbreaking aerospace systems.

Internship Overview:

Intuitive Machines is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Production & Manufacturing Intern. This internship is tailored for students pursuing degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, certifications or related fields, providing a unique chance to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of aerospace manufacturing. Under the guidance of experienced team members you could expect the following.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Operation: Operate mills and lathes to fabricate precision components according to engineering specifications and project requirements.
  2. Setup and Maintenance: Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  3. Collaborative Manufacturing: Work closely with experienced engineers and manufacturing teams to contribute to various stages of the production process, from concept to final assembly.
  4. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control inspections to verify the accuracy and integrity of machined components, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of manufacturing processes, including measurements, adjustments, and any issues encountered during production.
  6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a secure and hazard-free working environment.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field, certification courses or associates degrees also welcome.
  2. Hands-on experience with mills and lathes, including setup and operation or related course work in an academic setting.
  3. Basic understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control.
  4. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to precision.
  5. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  6. Enthusiasm for aerospace manufacturing and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
