Structures and Design Intern - Aerospace Engineering
Location: Houston, TX

Internship Overview:
Intuitive Machines is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Structures and Design team as an intern. This internship is tailored for students pursuing degrees in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields, providing a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of aerospace design and structures. Under the supervision and mentorship of senior engineers you could expect the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design: Contribute to the design and analysis of aerospace structures, ensuring they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Thermal Systems: Assist in the development and analysis of thermal systems, including thermal control solutions for spacecraft and related components.
- Collaborative Design: Work closely with the design and engineering teams to support various stages of the product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to testing and validation.
- CAD Modeling: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed models and drawings of aerospace components and structures.
- Analysis and Simulation: Participate in structural and thermal analysis using simulation tools to evaluate the performance and integrity of designs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and simulation results to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Certifications and associates backgrounds also welcome.
- Strong interest in aerospace structures, thermal systems, and design.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Soliworks) and structural analysis tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a dynamic aerospace engineering environment.
