Job description

A thriving economy in space is needed to make life on Earth more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable. Space technology will enable global access to information, solutions to climate change, answers to global food security, products that transform healthcare, clean energy production, and more. Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.

Description

Fully reusable launch vehicles are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. As the Stage 1 Thrust Chamber Assembly (TCA) Responsible Engineer, you will have extreme ownership over all aspects of the Stoke’s first stage regeneratively cooled thrust chamber and nozzle optimized for our full flow staged combustion engine cycle. You will own the CAD design, regen circuit layout, additive manufacturing approach, and testing of a TCA designed for a 100% reusable rocket designed to fly daily. You will work closely with the rest of the first stage engines design, manufacturing, and operations teams through all phases of the product lifecycle. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

  • Own the CAD and product definition.
  • Design and iterate the regenerative cooling channel design for optimal cooling within allowable pressure drop.
  • Develop, execute, and improve the manufacturing plan for the TCA; procuring and managing all hardware for the TCA.
  • Define the verification plan and manage the execution of development test campaigns on during engine testing. Review test data and determine compliance with specifications.
  • Track risks and execute appropriate mitigation plans.
