Our team is looking for highly skilled engineers to drive the strategy, design and implementation of Smart Factory technologies. Our mission is to innovate and build scalable and robust hardware and software solutions for the aerospace manufacturing environment. Participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of pioneering IIoT systems and technologies to continuously improve the safety, quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. Functionally decompose sophisticated problems into simple, straight-forward solutions. Share knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering standard methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop and deploy IIoT hardware and software solutions to enable factory floor data collection, process monitoring, process control, and other Smart Factory capabilities.
  • Evaluate new vendors and technologies to advance the state of the art in manufacturing.
  • Dive deep into existing industrial equipment to discover and contextualize machine and process data for consumption into a common data hierarchy.
  • Investigate opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through IIoT integration.
  • Lead IIoT connectivity projects internally or with contractors during the design, development, and deployment.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, computing environment, and system configuration problems to maintain the software link between sensors, gateways and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel, engineers and executives.
  • Collaborate with software developers to create, deploy and support scalable IIoT solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience programming and/or modifying a varied selection of PLCs, CNCs and Robots including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, ABB, Codesys, etc.
  • Extensive experience designing, modifying and troubleshooting electrical control systems and industrial networks.
  • Experience with industrial protocols (ex. OPCUA, MT-Connect, MQTT, Modbus, EIP, ProfiNet, QIF).
  • Experience developing solutions in IIoT platforms such as Ignition, TwinMaker, Grafana, HighByte, AWS Sitewise etc.
  • Experience with writing and developing software (ex. Python, C#, Java).
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Strong aptitude for quickly learning and understanding complex, unfamiliar systems and processes.
  • Strong skills for design and process simplification.
  • Proficient in understanding and mapping internal control system data to operational metrics that drive equipment reliability and performance.
  • Experience designing and optimizing industrial equipment using data collection, analysis and controls implementations
  • Ability to communicate optimally, clearly, and with humility to partners.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to building a positive culture of inclusion and diversity.
  • An understanding of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, or other relevant engineering field
  • Familiar with various control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06
  • Understanding of ERP, MES, and other common manufacturing software systems.
  • Experience with AWS Services such as S3, EC2, ECS, EKS and IoT Device Management
  • Experience in version control systems (ex. Git, SVN)
  • Experience working with agile tools (ex. JIRA, Kanban, Scrum)
  • Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experience

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.

Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
