We’re on the hunt for a Junior Electronics Test Professional on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role: 

The junior Test Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for design, integration and commissioning of specialized electronic test equipment for testing mixed signal (Digital & RF) electronic products used in satellites and other space-based systems The chosen candidate will work closely with PCB designers, Digital (FPGA), Software and RF Engineers as part of a product integration team responsible for developing complex test systems and validating flight equipment. A dynamic work environment will allow for exposure to many facets of electronic product development and allow the candidate to grow in a well-rounded manner.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate with the product design team with the help of a senior Test Specialist to develop test architectures and methods for verifying the performance of flight equipment.
  • Aid in the design of specialized PCB assemblies,
  • Assist in FPGAs and/or software and integration in the test system
  • Develop framework for automation of test sequences
  • Work with the product design team and test technicians to review data and debug test equipment and flight hardware
  • Produce technical drawings, reports and other documentation

     

    Qualifications:

    • Engineering degree and interest in the field of electronics testing and integration
    • Knowledgeable in test automation and scripting
    • Familiarity with CI/CD framework and pipelines (Jenkins) is an asset
    • Knowledge/experience in the following programming languages is an asset:
      • MATLAB
      • Python
    • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and communication protocols
      • PCB design experience is an asset
    • Experience with laboratory instrumentation such as:
      • Oscilloscope
      • Network analyzer (asset)
      • Spectrum analyzer (asset)
      • Arbitrary waveform generator (asset)
    • Fluent in written and spoken French and English is an asset.
    • The ideal candidate would be a multidisciplinary, pro-active, enthusiastic, and result-oriented team player

     

    Comments/Special Considerations:

    Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
