Red Canyon Software is looking for a passionate Electronics Technician to help develop the future generation of space lasers! The Electronics Technician assembles electronic components, subassemblies and harnesses according to verbal and written manufacturing procedures. They will attach and connect parts in place through hand tools, power tools, and other equipment according to orientation, placement, and relationship on written work orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify parts and tools according to description and picture for assembly; Interpret values and sockets on PCB boards and assembled components (transformers, resistors, transistor capacitors) for correct attachment; Able to recognize deviations in parts, processes, tools, and flow of manufacturing
  • Performs on-line inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards
  • Perform simple and complex electrical tests, troubleshooting, and repair operations
  • Record performance results, analyze defect results, interpret variances or unpredicted changes in equipment or product which may affect results of multi-test operations and data gathering. Suggest resolution/solutions and may test and implement solutions
  • Document the results of troubleshooting/failure analysis of failed product in order to maintain records and provide corrective and preventive action in accordance with procedures
  • Replace components or build custom fixtures for product testing based on engineering instructions
  • Rotates through various assignments/workstations within the electronics area
  • Performs all work following IPC-A-610 standards

Required:

  • 1-3 years of applicable experience working with PCBs, electronics, or similar devices
  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations, using PPE where needed
  • Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using both the imperial and international metric system
  • Able to read and follow simple instructions in English. Able to verbally communicate effectively in English and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
  • On an electronics schematic drawing, be able to identify the basic electronics components: resistors, capacitors, µp/SoC, FPGA, connectors, etc.
  • Ability to analyze the soldered components of a previously assembled board
  • Able to rework SMD and through-hole components of a printed circuit board assembly following a procedure.
  • Experience with electrical wiring harness manufacturing
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, and thrives on navigating changing circumstances
  • Teamwork spirit

Preferred:

  • Spanish speaking a plus
