The current vacancy is for an opportunity in the Galileo Exploitation Programme Management Department, which develops new Galileo services enabling new applications and ensures the proper management, operation, maintenance, continuous improvement, evolution and protection of the space-based and ground-based infrastructure. It also manages the consistency between technical, planning, financial and risk aspects of all the Galileo exploitation activities and elaborates and maintains the Galileo Exploitation Plans.

The position requires permanent relocation to the Agency’s headquarters in the heart of Europe – Prague – a location with excellent connections to numerous major European cities. The capital of the Czech Republic, in the banks of the Vltava River, is famous for its cultural life, renowned musical life, historic buildings, magical bridges, and recognised museums and monuments.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Agency is looking for a Galileo Security Operations Officer who will ensure and oversee the security activities of all Service Provision activities. This requires to be involved notably in the management of the security aspects within current and future contracts for the provision of the Galileo Services, as well as establishing and following up the associated contractual and/or management mechanisms. The jobholder shall also liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. European Commission and European Space Agency) as part of the performance of the duties.

Specifically, the main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure continued management and supervision of the Service Provision security activities, through the management of all security activities within the current and future Service Provision activities;

  • Ensure that all Service Provisions activities are performed within the relevant security framework and requirements, by collaborating with other colleagues involved in the Galileo Service Provision, as well as by supervising the security aspects of the Galileo Operations and contracts;

  • Participate to project infrastructure and operational boards, reviews and meetings, in particular for what concerns the topics related to the security of the Service Provision;

  • Actively participate in Operations and Programme Security Boards, ensuring notably that any changes are adequate from a security point of view;

  • Liaise with other departments, notably in the area of Administration and Operations, to ensure the execution of related corporate tasks, such as planning, reporting, administration, financial & budget management, risk management;

  • Contribute to other tasks of the Galileo Exploitation Department, as necessary;

  • Maintain an efficient and trustful relationship with project stakeholders, within EUSPA and with the relevant subcontractors.

Missions to the other Agency sites, Galileo Control Centres, contractor premises and occasional travels to the EC and ESA are foreseen for this post.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Professional experience and expertise

  1. Experience in coordinating security activities within an operational environment;

  2. Experience with implementation of security framework within complex contracts;

  3. Direct experience in the implementation of cyber-security process is desirable;

  4. Experience in financial, procurement and contract management, preferably including service level agreements;

  5. Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
