Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. Currently, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment.


The main responsibilities will be the creation of spaceflight hardware and robotics systems, as well as our terrestrial Canary Air Quality products. You will work on a wide variety of complex and breakthrough projects, including the Lunar Outpost MAPP rover, which has two missions to the Moon landing in 2024, and larger class autonomous rover systems that will help to expand robotic operations both on the Moon and on Earth. You will also assist with Canary Air Quality design, update, and manufacturing, helping to improve air quality for people here on Earth.


Job Responsibilities

  • PCB and circuit design
  • Development of electrical hardware and systems
  • Circuit card manufacturing and assemblies
  • Hardware testing and qualification
  • Implement EMI/EMC considerations
  • Radiation and environmental tolerancing
  • Implement upset and risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop logic designs and signal processing algorithms
  • Integrate designs onto FPGAs or SoC platforms
  • Work closely with RF/Hardware, software engineers for design and validation.
  • Technical writing and documentation of firmware products


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to navigate multiple complex challenges in a dynamic startup environment
  • Must be a U.S Person

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with high speed data links, Ethernet, PCI-E, etc.
  • Experience with networking protocol
  • Experience with signal transformation and processing
  • Experience developing fault tolerant systems
  • Experience using Verilog or VHDL
  • Experience with FPGA design tools such as Libero, Vivado, or similar
  • FPGA Development process: RTL design, verification, place and route, pin assignments, synthesis, timing analysis, testbench, lab bring up/validation
  • Designing on SoC platforms
