Position Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop and implement manufacturing processes for the building, testing, and delivery of spacecrafts and spacecraft components.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $80,000 - $140,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure design Refine, modify, or provide input into applications, processes, and designs as required to meet manufacturing and test requirements. Analyze statistical data, evaluate, and implement improvements to meet contract/schedule/quality requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support for product and process
  • Assume ownership for manufacturing build schedules that meet program schedule.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for manufacturing non-conforming product, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations and corrective actions.
  • Review drawings, assembly instructions, work orders and engineering change orders for completeness. Implement engineering changes and incorporate corrective action.
  • Aide and assist cognizant engineers in the creation of mechanical and electrical assembly instructions. Focusing on standardizing across projects and products while streamlining workflow of hardware through needed work centers.
  • Update designs, when necessary, in response to manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence, and system requirement changes.
  • Contribute to and / or present technical data in support of technical exchange meetings, manufacturing / test readiness reviews, and program status reviews with program managers and customers.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Design engineering functions, Test engineering, Quality assurance, Supply Chain Management, work centers and outside suppliers. Maintain excellent rapport with internal / external customers.
  • Assist with tooling design and validation.
  • Own and maintain common parts lists that are easily supported by manufacturing.
  • Understand and competently use in-house business systems including Configuration Data Management tools, Manufacturing Execution System, MRP, manufacturing shop floor control, and internal status reporting.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS or AAS degree in an Engineering field or equivalent discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency with interpreting technical engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical documents including test and integration procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills and an ability to lead group discussions with both internal and external customers.
  • Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education.


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.   BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
