Job description
Duties
- Serve as a recognized Subject Matter Expert for networks for information technology.
- Responsible for the planning, requirements management, architecture development, technical design, implementation, operations, and security for NASA Communications (NASCOM) networks and infrastructure modernization.
- Coordinate day-to-day NASCOM activities as they relate to NASCOM Networks Administration and NaTS integration efforts.
- Exercise authority in Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) technical integration between NASCOM networks, external service lines, and internal and external partners.
- Responsible for oversight of NASCOM network roadmaps and integration into all service line processes.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
- Ensuring the effectiveness, management, and execution of technical requirements for the network architecture of information technology services (i.e., voice, television, commands and data);
- Overseeing information technology network performance management and ensuring policies/processes are in compliance (e.g., management controls for OKRs, KPIs, KRIs); and
- collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet the technical requirements of information technology networks (i.e., voice, television, commands, and data).
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

- Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
