This role is a part of Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to Business Units with the focus on design, build and maintenance of the ground systems, test and launch facilities across multiple locations.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will enhance the Mission Operations, in all aspects of crane operations. Duties will include authoring lift plans for critical lifting operations including multiple cranes. In addition, this position will include, developing new overhead crane operators, lift directing, and performing standard lift activities daily. Candidate will have the ability to inspect and properly use rigging hardware, lifting slings, as well as maintain crane operator training records. You will be asked to support Test and Flight Operations Managers as needed, per verbal directions, or written procedures to ensure all lifting operations are conducted safely. You will collaborate with customers towards efficient scheduling and prioritization, based on organizational goals. You will coordinate and communicate mobile crane requests and invoicing with the Crane Vendors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support Florida Launch Operation teams. Develop resource plans, training curriculums, job descriptions, conduct interviews, make hiring recommendations, assign tasks, and conduct performance reviews.
- Responsible for leading work crews engaged in moving materials, and machines. Competent with all powered and non-powered lifting equipment such as hoists, pulleys, winches, jacks, skates, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, etc.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other subject areas related project and engineering documentation.
- Assist Launch Operation managers with transition from development to operations by working alongside engineering to successfully transition Ground Support Equipment and aerospace hardware.
- Ensure crane operators receive required online and classroom training and training records remain in compliance.
- Communicate with Launch Operations Control, to prioritize work based on schedule and organizational goals.
- Work with engineering to document and continuously improve crane processes.
- Review work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary.
- Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
- Support the setup of new work areas, including layouts, and equipment setup, etc.
- Coordinate and communicate needs with mobile crane companies when needed.
- Manage invoicing for outside crane vendors.
- Ensure rigging, hardware and lifting devices are used correctly, thoroughly inspected, and always in compliance with company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ Experience handling launch vehicles across a range of vehicle subsystems including avionics, fluids, and mechanical.
- NCCO or equivalent certifications on overhead cranes, crawlers, or truck/all terrain cranes.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement Critical lift plans in the field.
- Ability to precisely follow critical lift plans and procedures prepared by Engineering.
- Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Must be able to set a high hiring bar while evaluating and hiring top talent.
- Highly important to be customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
- Work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broad/deep Crane Operations planning abilities
- Certified Lift director
- Certified Critical Lift Operator
- Advanced rigging
- Aerospace background with experience handling high value aerospace components.
- Mobile Harbor Crane experience
- Offshore and knuckle boom crane experience
