York Space Systems has an opening for a full-time Contracts Manager. This position will report to the Senior Contracts Manager and will be responsible for supporting a variety of government and commercial contracts as well as supply chain and purchasing functions. This is an in-office job in our Greenwood Village, CO office. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Support the CLAO team and internal stakeholders throughout the agreement lifecycle. Includes proposal     support, prime and subcontract negotiation, preparation of change proposals, preparation of contracting documents and contract close-out activity.
  • Gather relevant facts and provide strategic support; draft, edit and modify prime and subcontracting vehicles.
  • Serve as company’s contracting interface with customers and vendors, working at Senior Contract Manager’s direction.
  • Collaborate and integrate with programs team in support of ongoing contracting efforts and contract modifications.
  • Assist in optimizing company templates.
  • Collaborate with other functional support, notably including strategic supply chain and program management team, and ensure timely negotiation, agreement, execution and record management of contracting vehicles in support of prime and subcontract performance.
  • Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of agreements in support of finance, human resources, procurement, facilities, and operations teams.
  • Support development of ERP and other records management tools; coordinate with internal team members to ensure successful and smooth transition.
  • Liaise and negotiate with customer and vendor contracting professionals.
  • Perform responsibilities both independently and in collaboration with the Senior Contracts Manager, other members of the legal and administrative department, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in auditing existing prime and subcontracting records for completeness and compliance with internal policies.
  • Help train and develop more junior members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Experience drafting and managing prime commercial contracts and/or subcontracts is essential; additional experience negotiating and managing US government contracts and/or subcontracts is preferred.
  • Experience in the technology and manufacturing industries.
  • Experience working directly with customers and vendors to arrive at productive solutions to perceived or actual obstacles.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and superior analytical skills.
  • Strong issue-spotting and obstacle-resolution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least eight (8) years of experience or Juris Doctor degree with five (5) years of experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work productively with a broad range of individuals, from early careerists to senior executives.
  • Willingness and ability to perform routine tasks as well as to take on more involved or sophisticated projects.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to maintain confidences, as with sensitive strategic or attorney-client privileged information.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-growth corporate disruptor environment.
  • Desire for continuous learning and expanding knowledge and skill base, especially in support of legal, contracting, and compliance efforts.
